Making an effort to encourage public awareness of the arts in Wichita Falls, TX (the small city where we are currently living and working), I designed an installation piece that I hope will stop pedestrians and traffic in the burgeoning downtown arts scene.
ARTs is inspired by a love of physical signs, typography and the work of Robert Indiana.
My plan is to hand-cut the facing type from 3/4" plywood and connect the two with 24x1x1 inch dimensional lumber. Once the faces are framed, I'll wrap the sides with veneer and finish the piece with glossy paint.
